چکیده

A Multi-Agent System (MAS) architecture is an organization of coordinated autonomous agents that interact in order to achieve particular, possibly common goals. Considering real-world organizations as an analogy, this paper proposes MAS architectural patterns for information systems which adopt concepts from organizational theories. The patterns are modeled using the i* framework which offers the notions of actor, goal and actor dependency, specified in Formal Tropos and evaluated with respect to a set of software quality attributes, such as predictability or adaptability. We conduct a comparison of organizational and conventional architectures using an e-business information system case study.

Architectural Styles for Information Systems: An Organizational Perspective

Enterprise information systems such as ERP, Knowledge Management or e-business systems need to deploy information system architectures which match the organization of the enterprise within which they operate. This calls for system architectures which adopt models from research in organization theory. With this idea in mind, we offer a set of organization–oriented architectural styles for inform...

Information Integration Architecture Development: A Multi-Agent Approach

Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) architectures are gaining popularity for building open, distributed, and evolving software required by systems such as information integration applications. Unfortunately, despite considerable work in software architecture during the last decade, few research efforts have aimed at truly defining patterns and languages for designing such multiagent architectures. We pro...

Organizational Architectures for Large-Scale Multi-Agent Systems' Development: An Initial Ontology

An initial conceptualization of organizational design techniques for large-scale multi-agent systems (LSMAS) based on the paradigm of organizational architecture is introduced. Seven perspectives (organizational structure, processes, culture, strategy, individual agents, organizational agents and inter-organizational context) are analyzed and dened. By using a graph theoretic approach and recur...

Enhancing Requirements to derive Multi-Agent Architectures

Software systems of today are characterized by the increasing size, complexity, distribution and heterogeneity. Understanding and supporting the interaction between software requirements and architectures remains one of the challenging problems in software engineering research. In this paper we present an approach for integration of system requirements and software architectures within the cont...
